City Code of Ordinances

An STR, or short-term rental, is a unit with a rental period of fewer than 30 days. View the Short-Term Rental Ordinance for more details. 

Business License Requirements

The Eugene City Council adopted an ordinance that requires all short-term rentals (STRs) in the City of Eugene to register annually. Register Online

Building and Housing Standards

Eugene has rules and regulations that specify minimum building, design, maintenance standards, habitability, health, and safety requirements. Some rules and regulations that apply to residential and non-residential properties may apply to your listing.  Consult the Building Department for more information. 

Tourist and Local Taxes

The transient room tax (TRT) is a 4.5% tax charged on all overnight stays in the city, including hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, vacation rentals, and short-term rentals.
