Niagara Falls Short-Term Rental Regulations

City Code of Ordinances

Short-Term Rental also referred to as Vacation Rental and or Transient Rental, is a nonowner occupied dwelling unit consisting of a detached single-family residential structure or a dwelling unit in a two-family residential structure (duplex) that is rented as a whole unit and under a single booking for a period of fewer than 30 days.  Overnight occupancy of the Short-Term Rental unit shall not exceed two persons per room designated as bedrooms. Helpful Resources:

Business License Requirements

The Short-Term Rental Unit's Owner must first apply for and obtain a Special Permit before operating and possess a current and valid Short-Term Rental License. Permit and License Requirements

Building and Housing Standards

Niagara Falls has rules and regulations that specify minimum building, design, maintenance standards, habitability, health, and safety requirements.
