City Code of Ordinances
The City began enforcing Short-Term Rental (rentals of less than 30 days) laws regulations on February 1, 2022. Within city limits, only Chula Vista residents are permitted to operate a short-term rental. For whole-home rentals, a two-night minimum rental duration is required. The maximum number of people allowed per rental is ten. One permit for each property owner is allowed. Residents can rent out the entirety of their primary residence for up to 90 days a year or any portion of their residence without any time limit.
