City Code of Ordinances
The City of Ventura regulates the Short-Term Vacation Rental Program. They defined short-term vacation rental (STVR) as a "dwelling unit" other than a dwelling unit located in a "hotel" that is rented to a tenant for not more than 30 consecutive days. You must complete the Required Forms below to apply for a Business License and STVR Permit. Once you have completed the applications and required forms, email the documents to the STVR Permit Administrator at lsherman@cityofventura.ca.gov.- Business License Application

- Surety Bond - or a copy of the STVR lease agreement including a clause forbidding "parties and loud social events between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, per San Buenaventura Municipal Code section 6.455.125.7(i)".
Building and Housing Standards
